CSB's Patti Clintsman scored the game's only goal in the first hafl as Saint Benedict dropped the Cardinals 1-0 in their regular-season meeting a year ago. … The Cardinals have been off since last Friday, when SMU dropped a heartbreaking, 2-1 decision to Augsburg in a game in which the Auggies netted the game-winning goal on a 2nd-half penalty kick. … Saint Benedict, meanwhile, stepped out of conference play and dropped a 2-1 decision at UW-River Falls on Tuesday.

After playing to just two ties in its first three seasons under coach Tony Guinn, SMU has now tied three of its last five games. … SMU's three ties are the most since 1997, when the Cardinals went 8-7-3. … Last Tuesday's 0-0 decision vs. St. Olaf was the first scoreless contest since a 0-0 tie vs. Hamline on Nov. 1, 2003. … Jennifer Johnson (Racine, Wis.) stopped a career-high 19 shtos vs. St. Olaf. Johnson posted her second shutout of the season and the eighth of her career. … Johnson followed up her 19-save effort vs. St. Olaf with a 10-save showing in SMU's loss to Augsburg. … Abbey D'Acquisto (Racine, Wis.) scored SMU's lone goal last week on a penalty kick vs. Augsburg. It was SMU's first PK of the season. … Tuesday's game vs. St. Olaf marked just the third time in SMU's 14 games that the Cardinals have been held without at least one goal. … Saturday's loss to Augsburg extended SMU's season-high winless streak to four (0-2-2). … Augsburg's two goals marked just the second time in SMU's first 14 games that the Cardinals have given up more than one goal in a game. … The Cardinals close out their home season on Saturday vs. Saint Benedict. After scoring 11 goals en route to a season-opening four-game winning streak, the Blazers have scored just seven goals in their last 10 games. … CSB has won three games since opening with those four wins and all three have been by shutout (2-0 vs. St. Catherine, 1-0 vs. Ill. Wesleyan and 1-0 vs. Hamline). … In their six losses this season, the Blazers have scored two goals, being outscored 10-2. … Saint Benedict is unbeaten in overtime games beating Nebraska Wesleyan 2-1 to open the season, then battling UW-Oshkosh to a 1-1, double-overtime tie. … The Blazers have been nearly unbeatable on their home turf, going 5-1-1, but CSB is just 2-5-0 away from home. … Allyson Draxler and Tina Lisk have been the Blazers’ offensive leaders, with Draxler scored four goals and totalling 11 points, while Lisk boasts a team-best four assists to go with her three goals for 10 points. … Eight of the 12 goals surrendered by CSB goalkeepers Shannon Strom and Shannon Conk have come in the first half.
