Macalester's Grace King scored the game's only goal early in the first half as Macalester snapped SMU's season-opening eight-game winning streak with a 1-0 victory in the teams' regular-season meeting a year ago. … The Cardinals are coming off their most impressive offensive performance of the season, as SMU routed Alverno 9-0 Thursday. … The Scots, meanwhile, extended their season-opening unbeaten streak to seven last Sunday, battling Luther to a 0-0 nonconference tie. It was the second tie during Macalester’s 5-0-2 current season-opening run.

SMU’s last win vs. the Scots was a 1-0 win in 1995. … Bridgette Baggio (Prospect Heights, Ill.) and Melisa Entinger (Mound, Minn.) netted two goals and Melissa Paulson (Ham Lake, Minn.) had a goal and two assists in SMU’s 9-0 rout of Alverno Thursday. … Mariana Sanchez (Puebla, Mexico) scored her first career goal in Thursday’s win. … Entinger’s two goals give her a team-leading seven for the season. … Entinger’s seven goals are the most since Amy Cory netted a team-best 14 in 18 games in 2004.
