Kelli Bids Farewell
WOW! All these years of soccer and it is all over now. I’ve been playing soccer since I was four, writing this senior salute really brings to reality that I’m done and it’s coming to a screeching halt. Soccer in my life will never be the same. Four years just flew by; there are so many memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life and so many people to thank.

First off: My parents. Mom, I know how important this Senior Salute is to you, and I know I won’t get to everything, but I will do my best! Mom and Dad, you guys are one in a million. Not many people have parents like you. You guys have been through it all. Where do I start? Five kids, all playing soccer, making it to just about every single game, how did you guys do it? I am so honored to be your daughter and only hope that I can be half the parents you are. Mom, I can always hear you from the sidelines screaming “go Krmpy,” looking right at me, waiting for me to wave to you, and always cheering loudly and supporting me even if you were going off of two days with no sleep. Dad, always ready to tell me how we played. You have taught me so much, not only about soccer, but about life and I will be forever thankful. I thank you so much for everything that you have given me and blessed me with. As for the rest of the family, I couldn’t have made it through college without you guys! Ryan, the crazy guy always getting mad at me for not answering your phone call! Thanks for all of your encouragement and support throughout college. Pat, it was awesome being able to talk to you about classes and about taking the same ones throughout my four years! Kevin, although you didn’t make it down here once, I really look up to you. I admire everything that you are doing and how much you have been through. Colleen, my little sis! You are awesome! Your dedication to everything in your life will get you so far! Love you guys!

My roomie Liz: We have been friends for eight years and it’s been quite a road! From freshman year at Holy Angels to freshman year here at SMU, sad to think eight years have flown by! You are such a great friend and I am so thankful to have someone like you in my life! I will miss not seeing you everyday after this year.

Coach Halberg and Coach Guinn, thank you for everything! Coach Halberg, I’m the last one left! You are a great coach and you have such a love for soccer that shows everyday. Thank you for keeping my head up my freshman year, I don’t know if I could have made it without your constant support throughout my years here. Coach Guinn, you have done so much for this program, it’s awesome! You brought the love of soccer back and made playing soccer fun again. Sad to believe I won’t have you as a coach anymore, a lot changes when you come around! Thank you for making my college career so memorable and successful.

Thank you trainers!! Our team definitely needed you this year! We had a rough year for injuries, but both of you were right there and kept us in each game (even though we only had SIX home games)!

Girls, girls, girls … everyone has meant so much to me whether you are a freshman, sophomore, junior, or an alumni, each of you made such an impact on my life and career here at SMU.

The juniors: Kendra, Madeline, Lisa, Abbey, Aubrey, Bridgette, Duffey, and Erin. Wow, there’s a lot of you! Kendra, you are such a dedicated, awesome, crazy soccer player! Madeline, you are a great person, always smiling and making me happy! Lisa, you have such a presence both on and off the field. Abbey, I will miss your laugh it’s so unique! Aubrey, your commitment to this team is awesome. Bridgette, roomie! You are a great player and I wish I could have played with you for my last year but living with you has been great! Duffey, I’ve had so much fun with you! This summer was great and SMU has also been a blast! Last, but not least, errrrrrrrn! I won’t ever forget the LISP! Every time it makes me smile! Good luck next year ladies, it’s your senior year! Each one of you is so committed to this team, the young ones are really lucky!

Crazy sophomores: Paulson, O’Keefe, Berg, Michele, Bethany, Nadia, Nina and Mess. We have had so much fun as a team both on and off the field, all of you are awesome and I will truly miss all of you! I have had such a blast playing with you guys and you have all brought something to this team that is very valuable!

The freshman: Kierra, Junior, Dana, Tinger, Mariana, and Steph. You guys have all brought your own unique personalities to this team. You guys have three years left here; make the best out of them because before you know it you will be a senior too. Time flies have a blast!

The only other senior: JJ, my goalie! You are amazing! I have been so lucky to have you as a goalie for three years here. We have had such great times here and I will cherish the memories for a long time! You ROCK and I will miss you so much!

Before this gets any longer, I better stop here, the end. Sad to say it’s over. Soccer will always be a part of my life and good luck to you girls next season and I know you will do awesome! Take advantage of every time you step on that field because one day you will be in my shoes wondering where that time went!
