WINONA, Minn. — It was a fitting way for Jennifer Johnson's (Racine, Wis.) illustrious soccer career at Saint Mary's University to come to an end.

For the second straight year, Johnson was among the best goalkeepers in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 2006 — and for the second year in a row, the SMU senior was honored for her efforts, as Johnson was named to the All-MIAC First Team, it was announced Monday.

Johnson appeared in all 11 conference games for the Cardinals, posting a 3-5-3 record with three shutouts. The SMU senior stopped 85 of the 97 shots she faced, compiling a 1.12 goals-against-average and an .876 save percentage. Johnson's 85 saves ranked No. 2 in the MIAC, while her .876 save percentage ranked fourth and her 1.12 GAA was eighth.

For the season, Johnson posted a 1.06 goals-against-average and an .857 save percentage in 17 games.

Johnson's teammate, Kelli Krmpotich (Minneapolis, Minn.), was an honorable-mention selection, while Emily Berg (Owatonna, Minn.) was SMU's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
