WINONA, Minn. — it was their last collegiate soccer game, and Saint Mary's University's Kelli Krmpotich (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Jennifer Johnson (Racine, Wis.) made it one to remember.

Krmpotich posted her first career two-goal game, while Johnson netted the second goal of her three-year career in leading the Cardinals to a season-ending 6-0 nonconference win over Martin Luther last Sunday afternoon.

"It was a great way for us to end our season — and an even greater way for our two seniors to end their collegaite careers," said SMU coach Tony Guinn. "Kelli and Jennifer have meant so much to this team and to this program. They have been the foundation that has helped us turn this program around and they are going to be greatly missed."

Not by Martin Luther.

After Emily Duffey (Richfield, Minn.) got the Cardinals on the board in the third minute of the game, SMU's senior duo went to work. Krmpotich sandwiched her two goals around one by Johnson, as SMU pushed that advantage to 4-0 before the game was 11 minutes old.

Duffey added her second of the game to give the Cardinals a 5-0 halftime advantage, and Lisa Tlougan (Rochester, Minn.) closed out the scoring with her team-leading ninth of the season midway through the second half.

"Our goal this weekend was to come away with two wins, and that's exactly what we did," said Guinn, whose team snapped a season-high three-game losing streak — not to mention a six-game winless streak — with a 1-0 win over St. Catherine in their conference finale on Saturday. "We played very well (on Saturday) and we just picked up where we left off today.

"This is a great way for us to end the season — and, hopefully, it's a sign of good things to come next season."
