St. Thomas scored two goals less than a minute apart two minutes into the second half, breaking a 2-2 tie and handing the Cardinals a 4-2 setback in their meeting last season. … The Cardinals suffered their second shutout loss of the season on Saturday, as Concordia scored single goals in each half en route to a 2-0 win over SMU. … St. Thomas, meanwhile, had its two-game winning streak snapped with a 3-0 loss to fourth-ranked Macalester on Wednesday.

With their losses to Macalester and Concordia, the Cardinals fell out of the No. 10 spot in the latest NSCAA/Adidas Central Region poll it had been the first time since the 1999 season that SMU had been ranked. … SMU's 2-0 loss to Concordia Saturday was the seventh straight vs. the Cobbers, dating back to a 2-1 Cardinal win in 1998. … Since opening the season with eight straight wins, the Cardinals have dropped two of their last three games. … Lisa Tlougan (Rochester, Minn.) scored her team-leading ffith goal of the season in SMU's 2-0 win over Gustavus Wednesday, while Amy Cory (Crystal Lake, Ill.) who scored a team-high 16 goals a year ago added the other. … Jennifer Johnson (Racine, Wis.) stopped all 10 shots she faced vs. the Gusties, earning the SMU junior goalkeeper her fifth shutout of the season. … Ten of the Cardinals' first 11 games have been on the road. … The Cardinals' nine wins are the most since SMU went 12-5-1 in 1999.

The Tommies avenged last season’s 2-0 loss to UW-LaCrosse with a 2-1 win on Oct. 1, then erupted for four second-half goals in a 28-minute span a day later in routing Hamline 4-0. … Senior Christine Williams has 32 goals, 14 assists and 78 points in her collegiate career, ranking her seventh all-time in points just 11points shy of the No. 4 spot. … Head coach Colleen Carey, in her seventh season, won her 75th career game Sunday at Hamline. … The Tommies start five freshmen and two sophomores.
