WINONA, Minn. Fueled by back-to-back wins over St. Olaf and Augsburg, the Saint Mary's University womnen's soccer team jumped up to the No. 9 spot in the latest NCAA Central Region poll.
The Cardinals, who moved to 11-3-0 overall with their 2-0 triumph over St. Olaf and their 1-0 shutout win over previously unbeaten Augsburg, are one of three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams among the region's top 10.
Macalester (11-0-1), currently ranked No. 3 in the latest NSCAAAdidas Top 25, holds down the No. 1 spot, while St. Benedict (8-2-2) which will host the Cardinals in a key MIAC showdown at 1 p.m. on Saturday in St. Joseph, Minn. is No. 8 and SMU is No. 9.
