What?!? It’s over? Well ladies, we had some amazing times. To every girl, past and present, that made my soccer career at Saint Mary’s fantastic … thank you. I could not have asked for better teammates. Out of my 17-year soccer career, I had never run into a group of girls as dedicated as the ones I played with at Saint Mary’s. We stuck through difficult times for the shear love of the game and each other.

Mom and Dad, thanks for the endless support you gave me in my soccer career. I can’t even count how many times you drove me up to the cities for games and tournaments. Not to mention the fact that you nearly made it to every home game at SMU, and were there to send treats home at the away games. You always gave me that extra motivation before every game, “What are you going to do today?”I love you!!! Dan, Mike and Nikki, your constant verbal and physical abuse made me a tougher person and player. You never let me settle for less then the best. Mike, you would even make me apologize for games that you had drove so far to see and I had lost. It would make me try harder the next time.

Seniors, wow! The times we’ve had! Each and every one of you will hold a special place in my heart. Bethany Gertrude Zubrinnnysknny … beach whales, flamingo fighting, constantly being the “crazy ones,” I am going to miss you! I couldn’t have asked for a better co-captain. You are an amazing person and a wonderful friend. I admire so many things about you, I don’t even know where to start. When I was negative, you were positive. When I was down, you brought me up. When I was out of control … well … you were right there being out of control with me! I love you!

Heidi … Okay we all know … Maryland Rocks! It had to to have produced you! I will miss your smart-ass comments. You can’t fool me, below that angel appearance there is a devil waiting to come out — I would love to talk to your “old friends!”

Angie … I have never met a nicer person. How do you do it? I don’t think I have ever heard a negative thing come out of your mouth. Remember, you live in America now, so love it!

Laurel … I am going to miss watching you plow people over and your gigglyness. You could always tell when I was having a bad day, and would take the extra time to make me feel better — thanks.

Emily … “Brick wall.” I still don’t know how you make some of the saves you do. I hope your large and disgusting calcium deposit bruise goes away. GROSS! I would definitely have to give you the most improved player award, which shows how dedicated you were to the game. I love the hard work you put in at every practice and game.

Diana … Even though you are bigger than me, I will still take you out just because you are from Kasson. If there were a picture of goofy in the dictionary, it would be of you. I don’t even know how you come up with some of the things you say and do. I can’t wait to see you at crazy dress-up day this year!

Juniors, sophomores, and freshmen …This year has been such a big a step toward future growth. Each of you has the ability to make this program the best in the conference. There are so many things I am going to miss about you all, I don’t even know where to start. You all have made this year the best. Thank you for that. The memories you have given me are immeasurable. I am so jealous that you all have more years of soccer ahead of you. Give all you can because it goes faster than you could ever imagine. Respect and work for each other. Mooney, you better carry on the “crazy Goody style” (I am pretty sure you are already well on the way!) Kim and Steph … keep up the attitude — it will keep Suds on her toes! Erica … we’ve missed you! Court and Mandy … I constantly kept an eye out for you both. Your quick wit and quietness made me think that you were conspiring something. I don’t know what, but I will figure it out. I think that Katie girl you hang around with has something to do with it.

Shannon, Bernadette, and Crystal … I miss playing with you three. Each one of you has made such an impact on my playing style. Shannon … did you ever stop running? Off the field you may be a cat, but on the field you were a tiger. I love being your roommate. You are my best friend and I love you. Bernadette … You always reminded me to look forward to out nights off. Crystal … You would always verbally abuse my player and then I would have to deal with the consequences! I had to be a tougher player because of you.

Mike Lackey … Hi there cutie. Yep, we are unconventional, but none-the-less get the job done. Thanks for the support you have given me these past few years. You’ve had to deal with a lot of sassiness, especially after a loss.

Coaches …Your dedication to the team is immeasurable. Jeff, your pre-game words of wisdom always gave us great insight to how we were going to take on our opposing player. Dave, even though you spent most of the time with the goalies, you never failed to give the extra words of motivation to the whole team. I will miss joking around with you. Coach Blank, you turned a quite and crying freshman into a player you wish would shut her mouth sometimes. I recall when I was injured this year, you demanding that Jeff and Dave keep me on the bench! Your knowledge of the game has broadened my perspective on how it should and should not be played. Thank you all for the GREAT four years.

Big Gulps huh? Whelp … see you later.

Goody.
