After battling to a 1-1 deadlock in their first meeting a year ago — getting a second-period from Rachel Harrison (Racine, Wis.) — Jenn Shire (Anaheim Hills, Calif.) scored 1:32 into overtime to lift SMU to a 4-3 victory over Saint Benedict in the rematch a year ago. … Melissa Mondo scored one goal and assisted on the other, and Nikki Jung stopped 23 of the 24 shots she faced, as the Cardinals held off a late Saint Benedict rally to beat the Blazers 2-1 in an MIAC game at the SMU Ice Arena Friday.
