The Cardinals had the upper hand in both meetings vs. the Cobbers a year ago. SMU got goals from Amy Madden (East Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Laura Mueller (St. Paul, Minn.) not to mention shutout goaltending from Nikki Jung (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) en route to a 2-0 victory in the first game. In the rematch, Melissa Mondo (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) scored the game-winner two minutes into overtime as SMU completed the sweep with a 2-1 win.
