Madeline Bids Farewell
Two years ago when I was in Buffalo, N.Y., never did I ever think that I would be finishing my hockey career in Winona, Minn. But, here I am. The lone senior. My last two years here at Saint Mary’s have been unforgettable.

First, I would like to thank my #1 fans, my family. You guys have been there for me through everything these past four years, helping me make some very difficult decisions and also just being there whenever I needed you. I wish you guys could be here today for my Senior game, and I know you wish you could be here too, but it’s okay. I am sorry for moving halfway across the country and barely seeing you during the year, but I know you support me and want what is best for me and I love you for that. I miss you guys so much and I think about you all the time. I love you.

Secondly, I would like to thank the Madden family. You guys opened your arms to me from day one. I am so happy to have you guys in my life. You took me in as one of your own and for that I am grateful. I could never thank you enough. Momma and Poppa Madden, and Sarah, I love you guys.

Amy Beth Madden. Where do I even start with you? I’m listening to Josie right now and just thinking about this summer. Ha, ha. You are probably the best roommate and friend a girl like me could ever ask for. Yes, I do make fun of you sometimes for being a little absent-minded, but you know I love you. If anytime I need your help, you always drop what you are doing to help me. Even if it’s just being there and listening to me talk, I appreciate it. I am so lucky to have a friend like you. Flave take care of her.

Adam, thank you so much for being there when I need you most. You always know how to make me smile and have a good time. I am so lucky to have met you and I am so happy that you are a part of my life.

My QUADPOD. Melissa, Shannon and Allison. You three are the most free-spirited girls I have ever met. You always know how to have fun. After being at a different school for two years and then transferring can be very hard, but you made it pretty easy for me. I love you girls so much!! VEGAS BABY!!

To my beautiful teammates. You girls are amazing. Of all of the teams that I have been on, this is the most hard-working and determined team I have been with. We are all so different, but we manage to set those differences aside and play the game we love most. Keep working hard!

How could I possibly forget the coaching staff. T. Mannor and Coach A., you guys are really blessed for taking on a task of 23 women hockey players. You two are the best guys for the job to change this women’s hockey organization in a very good way. I am glad that I could be part of it for two memorable seasons.

I would also like to thank the families that come to all of our hockey games, whether they are away or home. I think it may be so you can party with the other parents, I’m not gonna do any name dropping, but you know who you are! Thank you for your support through this season, and on behalf of the team we all appreciate it.

To all my friends here at Saint Mary’s that I did not mention — you know who you are and I love you guys!! Thanks for makin’ a Jersey girl feel at home.
