Icant believe that my time here at Saint Marys is almost through. It seems just like yesterday I was putting on the Cardinal jersey that was a few sizes too small for the first time. My four years here have been a wonderful and unforgettable experience. My time with this program has been one of the most rewarding of my life, and I will be forever grateful to my past and present teammates, coaches and others who have made my experience possible.
First, I would like to thank my mom. Mom, thanks for not laughing at me when I asked if I could play hockey all those years ago, and thank you for buying me my first set of equipment. I dont know how we got everything for under thirty dollars, but we did! Thank you for driving me to practice at all hours of the day, sending me to camp, driving me to the Cities for various leagues and for always being there for me over the years. Also, thank you for being my #1 Super Fan and always having something positive to say to me after the games. I know you had to sacrifice more than I know to fund my hockey career, but thank you so much. Hockey has been everything to me and thank you for seeing that, and always supporting me. Thank you mom, I love you. Carrie, thanks for being there to support me and for taking my side in most situations. Thanks for all the trips to the Cities and movies and Chinese take-out nights in high school and teaching me how to be cool.
Dad, Sue and Caleb Thank you for your support these past four years and always making it to the games to support the team. Dad, thank you for the weekly phone calls, your enthusiastic support, and your cheering during the games. Sue, even though you seemed to be bad luck and we lost most of the times you came, Im still glad you were there! Again, thank you for supporting me and being apart of my life these last four years, it as meant so much to me to share this part of my life with you.
Coach Ryhorchuk Thank you for your commitment to the team these past four years and teaching us useful things like how to cheat to the best of our ability, and where the Jack Daniels belongs. Your metaphors (which I wont repeat here) will live on in my heart forever. Coach Brickner Thank you for always being there to lend an ear or a helping hand when I needed it.
The trainers, Kevin and Lisa, I think I have gotten to know you two too well these past couple of years. Thank you for helping me rehab after my various injuries and surgeries that I have had. If it werent for you, I would be in a wheel chair. Donny, thank you for you continued support and timely work that you have done for our team the past four years. I know the players and our parents have appreciated the GameDays. Toni thanks for being a great person and letting me into your family. Debi what can I say? You were a great boss, and taught me everything I need to know about important business. To the rest of the Saint Marys Community- thank you for you enthusiastic support in the program.
Jenny Its hard to believe how long weve been friends. Im so glad you decided to come to school here and live with me in the trailer park. Ill never forget our late night chats, business time, the insults, movies, car trips and the not so good times weve had in your car. Thanks for being there for me when Ive needed you and always making me laugh. We are definitely true trailer trash. Laura Mooller- Im so glad you know what I am talking about half the time. Thank you for being there for me this year a countless number of times and being so nice even after I throw insult after insult your way. Youre the best.
Finally, to my fellow seniors. It sure has been fun, huh? You and the memories of the locker room, trips, games, dance clubs, and dorms will forever remain in a special spot in my heart. Kendall, thanks for making this past month tolerable. Em, thanks for always seeing the humor in every situation and Ill never forget our good times on I-80. Alissa, thanks for the therapy in the locker room and all the great times at your village this year. Diane, thanks for never kicking my ass because we both know you could take me down. Beth, thanks for introducing me to Guster.
To the rest of the team, thank you for making this year a great one. Thank you to all my past teammates who helped build this program, and for teaching me what it meant to be a Cardinal. If youre ever in the trailer park, stop by
