HOW THEY GOT HERE
After winning back-to-back MIAC regular-season championships in 2000-2001 and 2001-2002, the Gusties gave up their strangle-hiold on the conference's top spot this season, finishing third with an 11-4-3 record. The Gusties finsihed second to Saint Mary's in last season's conference tournament, then went on to beat SMU in the opening round of the NCAA Division III national tournament, before falling to Elmira 8-5 in the semifinals. GAC defeated Bowdoin 2-1 in the third-place game.
