What can I really say now that hockey is finally coming to an end for me? The past four years at SMU have been great. I will miss all the time put into hockey every year. All the on-ice practices, drylands, road trips and games that I have been able to be apart of.

First of all, I would like to thank my parents. Mom and Dad you two have given and done so much in order for me to play hockey. Even though you did not think hockey was going to be something I would be able to do, but with a little persuasion, you still gave me a shot to try and play. I am very thankful for that experience. I would not be where I am today without the two of you and hockey. I am also glad to say that the two of you have always been there for me. In the 10 years I have played hockey, I can count on my hands the times that both of you were unable to attend one of my games. The two of you sacrificed and traveled a lot, just so one of you could be there to support me. Words can’t say how much that has meant to me all these years. I would also like to thank my brothers for being there my whole life to keep me on my toes and to give me the determination to win and never let down.

To the coaches that have been a part of my hockey career over the years, thanks. Without your hockey knowledge and ability to coach, I would not have the hockey skills that I do today. Duncan and Anna-Marie, I am glad that over the past few years I have been able to get to know you as individuals and play for you at SMU.

To my teammates, past and present, I will miss you all and all the memories we have together. I have had the chance to play with some of the nicest and most talented players here at SMU. Nitara, thank you for being such a great goalie partner, teammate and friend. We have had a lot of good memories that I know I will never be able to forget. How can I thank you for always giving me words of advice to keep my head up in games and always wanting to do better?

What can I say about Sara? I can only imagine the stories that you have about me at hockey and being your roommate for four years. Thank you for always being there for me, letting me be able to talk and have someone listen to me when I was having a bad day. You probably are the only person that can understand all the weird things I do. I am glad I was able to have a roommate that was willing to deal with the very temperamental person that I am. Thanks for all your hard work and effort that you have put into the team as well.

I guess that I have to end this somewhere or sometime. I am sorry for anyone that I forgot to mention. The grand finale is about to begin and I need to make the curtain call and move on. I am glad for the experience of playing college hockey at such a great school. The four years really do fly by, so hold on tight.
