The years have gone by so fast and the long road has almost come to an end. It has been a great trip these last four years. It’s hard to believe my college experience will soon be over. There are so many memories that have stayed with me through the four years here at SMU. We have grown over these four years into an outstanding team.

First, I would like to thank my parents for always being there for me. They came to as many games as they could. Dad, for all those early morning practices in high school to our college games in New York, you were always there watching me turn into the skilled hockey player I am today. You stood by my side and cheered me on. Mom, for all those cold ice rinks I made you sit in, even with all the back pain you were in. You always came through, and for cheering the loudest for me at all those games. Without both of you this would have never been possible. I begged and begged to play hockey and you finally said yes, see what you got yourself into? Thank you for everything. Love you both. To my brother Robert, thank you for all those roller hockey games in the garage. You made a great target to shoot at. I would also like to thank my grandparents, Grandma Hicks, Grandma Davis, and Granddad for making this college experience really come true. Thank you for all of your love.

Second, I would like to thank the coaching staff, Duncan and Anna-Marie. Duncs the patience you must have to coach 25 girls year-in and year-out. With your guidance and perseverance, you have turned this team into what it is today. Anna-Marie, thank you for the hard work you have put forth these past years. To Coach F, thank you for always sharpening my skates every week it means a lot. To Donny, thank you for all the write ups you have done, it is a hard job to keep up with and you do a wonderful job.

I would also like to thank my fellow seniors, Sarah, Monica, Nitara, Missie, Sara P., and most of all, Josie. We have been through it all, coaching changes, wins, losses, and the fun trips. Through thick and thin I will always remember each of you. Josie, you have been the bestest friend a girl could ask for. I remember the first day we met in good old Ed’s. Now look where we are, all grown up. Sarah, you brought laugher and leadership to our team and I know you always got my back. Monica, “oh captain my captain,” you brought great leadership to our team and a great friendship as well. Nitara and Missie, our goalies, you two were the backbone of the team, always there for a good smile and advice. And last, but not least, Sara P. Thank you for all of your help through games and practices, you help is not overlooked.

To the rest of the team, thanks for putting in your time and commitment and making this season one to remember. Good luck to all of you in the future. Follow your heart and you will go far in life. To everyone else who made all of this possible — “Thank You.”
