The Blazers had the upper hand in both meetings vs. SMU a year ago, winning 63-33 and 54-44. … The Cardinals are coming off their worst offensive, and defensive, performance of the season. SMU managed just 12 second-half points, while allowing a season-high 86, as St. Thomas cruised to an 86-35 victory in the teams’ Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener Wednesday. … Saint Benedict, meanwhile, got its MIAC season off on a high note, using first-half runs of 14-0 and 11-0 to roll past Concordia 72-54.
