Gustavus has now won 10 straight games.  During their current win streak, the Gusties have averaged 68.2 points per game, while allowing 52.3 points per game.  Coach Mickey Haller’s squad has also posted a 12-1 mark in January. … Jess Vadnais made her 100th free throw of the season against St. Ben’s last Saturday.  Vadnais then made 8 of 8 free throws against St. Catherine, extending her consecutive free throw streak to 23 and breaking the school record for free throws made in a season at 108. … Bri Monahan now ranks in the top 10 in six career statistical categories for the Gusties. She ranks first in free throws made (271), second in points (1354), fourth in field goals made (500), sixth in steals (181), eighth in rebounds (569), and eighth in three-point field goals made (55).  Monahan made her 500th career field goal against St. Ben’s last Saturday.  She now ranks fourth all-time behind Kelli Etzel (505), Jeri Ree (518), and Linn Erickson (601).

The Cardinals dropped their fourth straight Wednesday, falling in overtime to St. Olaf 66-61 in Northfield, Minn. … Gustavus, meanwhile, improved to 14-2 in the MIAC, getting 28 points from Bri Monahan and 22 from Jess Vadnais in an 84-75 win over St. Catherine Wednesday.

The Cardinals turned the ball over a season-high 37 times — and the Gusties turned those miscues into 31 points — as Gustavus cruised to the lopsided, 74-43 win at the SMU Gym on Jan. 6.

Wednesday's loss to St Olaf was the first overtime game of the season for the Cardinals, who have not gone to OT since a 57-53 setback to … St. Olaf … in their season-finale a year ago. … SMU''s last OT win was a 75-73 victory over Bethel on Jan. 2, 2006. … The Cardinals have now lost four straight, and are looking for their first win since a 59-50 win over St. Thomas on Jan. 20. … St. Olaf's 66 points were the most allowed by the Cardinals since St. Catherine netted 71 in a 71-56 win on an. 8 — a span of nine games. … SMU's 61 points scored, meanwhile, were the most since tallying 73 in a win vs. Augsburg on Jan. 13. … Jessica Weisbrod (Rollingstone, Minn.) netted 14 points vs. St. Olaf. It was the sixth straight game in which she has scored in double figures, and the 10th time in SMU’s last 11 games. … It was also the 15th time in SMU's 19 games in which Weisbrod or Kelly Tanke (La Crosse, Wis.) led the team in scoring. … Tanke and Nichole (Hanson (Owatonna, Minn.) also scored in double-figures vs. St. Olaf, netting 13 and 12 points, respectively. … Tanke has now scored 33 of the team's 64 3-pinters. … The Cardinals saw their road losing streak climb to nine straight with Wednesday's loss — SMU has not won a road game since opening the season with a 56-43 win over Willamette at the Bon Appetite Classic in Portland, Ore.
