Ashley Luehmann (Lewiston, Minn.) nailed a 3-pointer with eight minutes left in the first half Saturday vs. Gustavus to give the SMU junior 1,000 points in her illustrious career.
Luehmann is just the seventh player in SMU history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
Jamie Rattunde (Rollingstone, Minn.) - also a member of SMU's 1,000-point club - scored 20 points and added 10 rebounds vs. Gustauvs, giving her double-doubles in each of her last three games, a span in which she's averaged 22.6 ppg and 12 rpg.
SMU has followed up each of its last three losses with two-game winning streaks as the Cardinals have now won two straight, four of their last five and six of their last seven.
Rattunde leads the team in scoring, averaging 16.0 ppg, while Luehmann and Angie Arrington (Spring Grove, Minn.) are also averaging in double figures at 15.2 ppg and 13.6 ppg, respectively.
Luehmann has now scored in double figures in eight straight games, while Rattunde has scored 20 or more in SMU's last five games.
