Carleton Game Notes: The Knights, the three-time defending MAIC regular-season champion and four-time defending MIAC playoff champions, look to make it five consecutive conference post-season titles when it opens the MIAC Playoffs by hosting Saint Marys.
Only three other womens basketball programs Concordia (1986-88), St. Thomas (1996-98 and 2000-2002) and St. Benedict (2002-04) have won three straight MIAC regular-season titles. The outright title is the MIACs first since St. Thomas clinched the 2000-01 crown outright.
Carletons class of 2005 one of the most successful groups of Knight female student-athletes in school history won their 75th MIAC contest last Wednesday, matching the class of 2004 for most conference wins in a career. Kristi Colbenson, Beth Freeman, Katie Freeman and Kate Krueger have amassed an amazing 92-18 record in their four seasons, including 75-11 in MIAC play.
Carleton is ranked fifth in this weeks NCAA West Region poll, with Concordia-Moorhead fourth and St. Benedict sixth.

Starting with the Jan. 22 win over Hamline, Vig has averaged 21.2 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting 60.9 percent from the field, including 45.9 percent (17-for-37) from three-point range.
