WINONA Minn. — Officially, Jamie Rattunde's (Rollingstone, Minn.) playing career ended when the Saint Mary's University women's basketball team dropped a 67-51 decision to Carleton in the second round of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoffs.

But you can't close the book on the SMU senior's career just yet.

Rattunde — named to the All-MIAC team for the third consecutive year a week ago — earned yet another postseason honor Wednesday, when she was named D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region.

Rattunde, who posted nine double-doubles in the Cardinals' 26 games, completed a rare triple-double in MIAC postseason awards last week, as she was also selected to the MIAC's All-Defensive Team. It was her fourth straight All-Defensive Team honor, and the third straight time she has been named to both the All-MIAC and All-Defensive Teams.

Rattunde, who helped guide the Cardinals to their first-ever home MIAC playoff game — a 77-67 win over Gustavus — and their most overall wins (18) since SMU went 21-3 and placed third in the NCAA regional tournament in 1985-86, closed out the regular season among the MIAC’s leaders in virtually every statistical category. The senior guard was fifth in scoring (16.4 ppg), fifth in rebounding (7.9 rpg), fourth in field goal % (110-for-205, .537), assists (90, 4.5 apg), and fifth in free throw % (105-for-130, .808).

Scoring in double figures in each of SMU's last 14 games, Rattunde ended the year averaging 16.6 ppg and 8.2 rpg — both team highs — while also dishing out a team-best 125 assists and collecting 72 steals.

Rattunde ended her Cardinal career with 1,483 points (third all-time), while also finishing as SMU's career leader in free throws made (423) and free throws attempted (596), She also ranked second in assists (385) and steals (350).

The Cardinals' senior was one of five MIAC players named to the three D3hoops.com All-Region Teams. Anna Heikenen (St. Benedict), Mandy Pearson (Concordia) and Megan Vig (Carleton) were first-team selections, while Kim Johnson (St. Benedict) was a third-team selection.

A record 606 players were nominated for the all-region awards by the sports information directors at the various schools. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for 10 players in their region. SIDs voted for six frontcourt players and four backcourt players.
