HOW THEY GOT HERE
The Blazers closed out their regular season with 11 straight wins, including a 77-65 win over Carleton and a 69-54 triumph over Gustavus — the two teams CSB shared the regular-season MIAC championship with. Because of the tie-breaking procedure, the Blazers were forced to settle for the No. 3 seed, and an opening-round game against Concordia, a team they swept during the regular season (76-59 and 83-55).
BLAZERS UPDATE
Senior wing Michelle Barlau (Northfield, MN) finished second in the MIAC in scoring with 18.2 ppg. shooting 56% from the field. Barlau has played an excellent series this season versus Concordia. … In their first contest against Concordia on Dec. 9, Barlau scored 21 points, and in their second matchup of the season she put in 29 points, going 12-12 from the field. … Senior forward Danni Hannon (St. Louis Park, MN) ended the regular season in sixth place in the MIAC with 14.5 ppg. Hannon is questionable for the Blazers game tonight against Concordia due to a hand injury sustained in last Wednesday's game versus Carleton. … Junior wing Ashley Brown (Edina, MN) has had a avery impressive season averaging 9.8 ppg. and 4.0 rpg. … Sophomore Kim Johnson (Arden Hills, MN) has really stepped up her game lately, she finished the regular season averaging 9.0 ppg. and 5.7 rpg. along with 1.6 blocks per game.
