Megan Roesler had a match-high 21 kills and Carolyn Kiefer finished with 63 assists as the Cardinals outlasted St. Olaf 19-17 in the fifth and deciding game of SMU's 3-2 win over the Oles in their regular-season meeting a year ago. … The Cardinals are coming off a 3-1 week in which SMU snapped a three-match losing streak with a 3-1 win over Augsburg last Wednesday, then followed that up with a 2-1 showing beating Crown and UM-Morris 3-0 and falling to Northwestern 3-1 at the UM-Morris Triangular over the weekend. … St. Olaf, meanwhile, has been off since last Wednesday, when the Oles dropped their second straight, a 3-1 decision to St. Catherine.

The Cardinals' win vs. Augsburg snapped a three-match losing streak in which SMU was beaten 3-0 by nationally ranked teams St. Thomas and Carleton, and by NCAA Division II Winona State. … SMU's win vs. the Auggies was the Cardinals' first MIAC road win of the season (1-4). … After managing just one 3-0 win in their first 21 matches, the Cardinals' last two victories have been 3-0 sweeps. … Eight of SMU's 14 losses, on the other hand, have come by 3-0 scores. … Molli Dant (Forest City, Iowa) was the Cardinals' offensive leader last week, collecting 68 kills including 40 in the three-match UM-Morris Triangular while also adding 55 digs and eight blocks. … Theresa Perrini (Fairway, Kan.) picked up 79 digs last week, pushing her team-leading total to 443 ranking her second all-time, just 64 digs behind Desiree Larson's school record of 507. … SMU served up 38 aces in its three matches at the UM-Morris Invitational, led by the nine-ace effort of Pam Stanton (Mundelein, Ill.). … Stanton ranks second in the MIAC in services aces with 14, while Perrini is fourth in digs (114).
