WINONA, Minn. — It's rare for a collegiate volleyball player to record a 30-dig performance, and even rarer for an athlete to do it in back-to-back matches.

Saint Mary's University's Theresa Perrini (Fairway, Kan.) did just that — plus one.

Perrini, the Cardinals' starting libero, collected more than 30 digs in each of SMU's final three matches at the Jefferson's/SMU Sugar Loaf Classic last weekend, earning the Cardinal sophomore Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Setter-Libero of the Week honors, it was announced Monday.

After being held to just nine digs in the Cardinals' 3-2, opening-round loss to Maranatha Baptist, Perrini was a digging machine, collecting 31 digs in a five game victory over UW-Superior, 37 of the Cardinals' 81 digs in a five-game upset of Wartburg, and a tournament-best and season-high 41 digs in a four-game loss to St. Scholastica.

Perrini finished with a tournament-best 118 digs in four matches, while also chipping in five service aces.

For the season, Perrini leads the team with 240 digs and nine service aces in 37 games.
