Tracy Koertgen Sr. • RS	It is hard to believe that it has been four years already and that it is all coming to an end. Volleyball has always been a major part of my life ever since I was about 12 years old. It is crazy to think that I have been playing for ten years and now it is almost over. Volleyball here at St. Mary’s University has been a great experience that has brought me many happy memories. First, I would like to thank my parents, because they have always been there to support me. They have watched hours upon hours of volleyball and I am sure they have bleacher butt by now. They have always taught me to try my hardest and then things will work out in the end. My parents have made me who I am and have taught me many valuable lessons in life. I would also like to thank my brothers, who claim to have taught me all I know about volleyball, because they have always supported me in what I am doing. Brian and Scott, you have come to watch me play even though you have your own lives that are very busy, and for that I thank you. Thank you for all that you have done for me in the past 22 years. I love you all!! I would also like to thank my roommates for always being there. Kates, you and I have been friends since high school and our friendship has only grown stronger over the past four years. We had our rough times, but we made it through and are even closer friends now. Molls and Kirst, the three of us have become so close over the past four years. I can’t think of a single moment in my college years that you two aren’t involved in. I can’t imagine not having you two as friends. Rivs, my fifth roomie this year, you are so much fun to procrastinate with … you know you can always find me in the middle of the futon. I have enjoyed getting to know you even better this year. I don’t know what I would do without my roommates. You are all so wonderful and are always there for me — whether I need someone to make me laugh or a shoulder to cry on. Thank you for all the fun times that we have had procrastinating on homework just so we can hang out and do who knows what. J Tess and Dingels, it has been great playing with you two. We have made some great memories that I will always remember. To the rest of my team, it has been so much fun. I know that volleyball would not have been the same without every single one of you. You all bring your own unique qualities to our team and it is wonderful to see how well we all get along with each other. I think this is one of the closest teams that I have ever played on. We get excited when we get to hang out with each other, which is so great. Keep working hard the rest of the year and in the years to come. Enjoy every moment that you have to play volleyball and be with your team, because four years will go by a lot faster then you would ever think. I still feel as though it was yesterday that my parents moved me into Benilde and I started my first pre-season here at Saint Mary’s. I would also like to thank all of my coaches. Coach Lester, Phat Corey, Roof, Jamie, and Jackie, you have all brought your own distinctive traits to the game of volleyball that have been so very useful to our team. You have all helped shape us into the team that we were and the team that we have become. I would like to thank everyone here at Saint Mary’s that has supported me throughout my four years here. To my professors that have been supportive about the missed classes and the constant questions about how the season is going. To our “super fans” out there, thank you for coming to watch us play and support me in every way possible. It’s been a great four years and all of the memories will continue for years to come. Thanks to everyone that has been there for me. It has been great.
