When I look back at the last four years of volleyball, I notice how much I have changed as a player and a person. As a volleyball player, I have become more confident of my abilities and have learned to trust my teammates. But more importantly, volleyball has also helped me to be more confident as a person, it has helped me to grow and learn the characteristics of a leader, and it has given me the special relationships one can only obtain through teammates.
To all my past and present teammates, I feel very honored to have been able to play with you. Each person has brought something special to the team. I remember, as a freshman, how amazing it was to be playing with so many great players. I couldnt believe some of the digs, passes, or sets that kept the rallies going. I want to thank everyone for pushing me in practice everyday and helping me to become the best volleyball player I could.
Tessa, you have helped me more than you can ever imagine. I knew I could always count on you to lift my spirits and get me going when things were down. You have helped me to open up and be myself. Thank you for the great leadership you have given this team. Kirst, you have always had a very important role on our team, and much of our team success is credited to you. Thank you both for being great co-captains
Molly, Katie, and Tracy, playing with you has been a great experience. I think the crazy thing has been seeing all of our individual personalities mix together to create quite a unique team. It has been a great experience for me. Lisa, Rachel, Benzie, Mino, Steph, Beth, and Des, one of the best parts of playing with you the last three years has been seeing all of you improve so much. You will all be great leaders for this team next year. Megan, Moldy, Jess, Kaylene, Ashley, and Katie, you have each changed so much since last year. You all have great volleyball abilities, and I can only imagine the possibilities for your future. Ashley, Ashley, Aleta, Becky and Stacey, I wish you all the best of luck with the rest of your career, and I hope you can get as much out of this program as I have.
One of the hardest things throughout the last four years has been the constant change in assistant coaches, but it has also been very beneficial. I have learned something different from each one of them. Thank you, Shelly, Jolene, Jamie, and Jackie for everything you have done for me and the Saint Marys program. A special thanks to Corey and Roof, you really made last year manageable for me, I cant stress enough how much the two of you have done for me. You both have made this program very special.
Coach Lester, it has been an honor to play for you for the last four years. You have cared about me and every one of my teammates, not only as a player, but also as a person, which is not something that is easy to find in a coach. Thank you for every opportunity you have given me and the belief you have always had in me. I can not imagine a better program to have been a part of.
I especially want to thank my parents and family for all the support they have given me in their own unique way. It means so much to me when you are more emotional than I am about what and how the team is doing. Thank you for always caring about what was going on and for the time you have spent concerned and excited about the team.
Lastly, I would like to thank all our fans and supporters. It really helps the team when we know others are watching what we are doing. I hope while watching us play you were able to see the love and dedication each one of us has for this sport.
