WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary's University volleyball players Tracy Koertgen (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Tessa Stranik (Eastonville, Wash.) — two of the key ingredients to the Cardinals' third-straight MIAC Tournament appearance — were named First Team All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, it was announced Wednesday.

The juniors led SMU to a third-lace tie in the MIAC regular-season standings with a 7-4 record. The Cardinals opened post-season tournament play at Carleton on Tuesday night, where they were upended by the Knights, 3-0 (30-23, 33-31, 30-17).

Koertgen, the Cardinals' offensive leader all season, finished with 163 kills in SMU's 11 conference games, ranking her fourth among all MIAC players. The junior right-side hitter also tallied 23 aces (ranking her No. 7 in the MIAC), 94 digs and 25 blocks.

Stranik, who shattered the Cardinals' single-season assist record with 1,433 assists in SMU's 31 overall matches, ranked third in the conference in assists (492) and assists per game (12.00). Stranik, who appeared in all 11 MIAC matches, also recorded seven aces, 104 digs and 11 blocks.
