NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Todd Yankowski (Chicago, Ill.) posted a fifth-place finish in the javelin and Kevin Schemenauer (Chippewa Falls, Wis.) tallied a fifth in the 1,500 to lead the Saint Mary's University men's track and field team to a fourth-place finish at the Meet of theSaints Saturday afternoon.

Yankowski, fresh off his eighth-place showing at the MIAC Combine Events, finished with a throw of 140-11 for his fifth in the javelin, while Schemenauer broke the tape in 4:09.84 to lead five SMU competitors in the 1,500. Joe Thompson (Lake City, Minn.) was 10th in the 1,500, followed by Keith Pieschek (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) (13th, 4:25.03), Andy Marter (Arkansaw, Wis.) (14th, 4:25.18) and Luke Hofmann (St. Louis, Mo.) (18th, 4:47.54). Jon Bell (Ogden, Utah) added a seventh-place effort in the 100 (11.62), while Jim Baertsch (Winona, Minn.) led a foursome of SMU finsihers in the 800 with a 13th-place time of 2:01.48 and Rick Schostag (Golden Valley, Minn.) placed 15th in the 400 (52.73)
