Luehmann's triple leads Cardinals' charge as UM-Duluth Invite DULUTH, Minn. Ashley Luehmann (Lewiston, Minn.) had her share of double-doubles during her college basketball playing days at Saint Mary's University. Tuesday afternoon, the Cardinal senior notched the track and field equivalent of a triple-double, winning the javelin, shot put and discus events at the UM-Duluth Invitational. "Ashley had a great meet," said SMU coach Kirk Nauman, noting that, not only did Luehmann win all three events, but her discus toss of 40.33 was also a school record, while her throw of 12.84 in the shot put was a provisional qualifier (but not as far as her qualifying toss of 13.40 from last weekend). "The conditions were nice it was great to compete with good weather for a change and everyone really performed well." Along with her first-place efforts in the shot and discus, Luehmann also dominated the field in the javelin, winning with a throw of 38.66, with the men's and women's 4x100 meter relay teams accounting for SMU's other two first-place finishes. The men's relay team stopped the clock in 43.39, with the women's team adding a winning time of 50.95.
