WINONA, Minn. — During the seven-week indoor track and field season, Saint Mary's University's Amanda Weinmann (Rochester, Minn.) was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week four times.

The Cardinals and their senior shot put specialist kicked off the outdoor season last Saturday at the Ripon Invitational.

And by Tuesday afternoon, Weinmann was back in the MIAC's spotlight, as her first- and second-place efforts in the shot put and discus, respectively, earned the SMU senior her fifth MIAC Field Athlete of the Week honor.

Weinmann, fresh off her second All-American performance of her career — placing eighth at the NCAA Indoor National Championships in early March — won the shot put (12.71 meters), while placing second in the discus (36.71 meters).
