Weinmann still perfect after landing 3rd MIAC honor

WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary's University fastpitch softball coach Jen Miller might want to consider giving Amanda Weinmann (Rochester, Minn.) a tryout.

After all, three weeks into the indoor track and field season, and the Cardinal senior is batting 1.000.

For the third straight week, Weinmann stole the spotlight, improving her NCAA Division III indoor provisional qualifying marks in school record-setting fashion at the UW-Superior Blizzard Open.

And, for the third straight week, Weinmann was honored for her efforts, earning the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Weinmann broke her own school records by over a foot in both the shot put and weight throw, uncorking a throw of 15.97 meters in the weight throw, not to mention a 13.46 meter shot put toss. Both throws rank Weinmann fifth in NCAA Division III.
