WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary's University's Amanda Weinmann (Rochester, Minn.) closed out her junior year with the highest honor bestowed upon a track and field athlete — All-American.

And she opened her senior season with yet another — Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week.

Weinmann, a qualifier for both the indoor and outdoor national championships, kicked off her final year in impressive fashion last Saturday, provisionally qualifying for the national championships in both the shot put and the weight throw.

Weinmann uncorked a toss of 14.93 to place fifth in the weight throw, while adding a provisional-qualifying throw of 12.77 in the shot put.
