WINONA, Minn. — New week, same result for the Saint Mary's University track and field team.

For the second week in a row, and the fourth time this season, the Cardinals landed a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week, as Autumn Valk (Appleton, Wis.) earned the weekly honor this week.

Valk, a senior hurdler, broke the school mark in the 55 hurdles at the Ole Open last Saturday, posting a time of 8.44 that not only lowered her school-record time, but also improved her NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships provisional qualifying mark.

One of SMU's six NCAA provisional qualifiers, Valk joins Beth Cleveland (Wausau, Wis.), Megan Mason (Appleton, Wis.) and Amanda Weinmann (Rochester, Minn.) as winners of the conference's weekly honor.
