Weinmann leads 4 individuals, both SMU teams to USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic honors
Despite the two-month layoff, the honors keep rolling in for the SMU junior and her teammates as Weinmann was named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team. In fact, Weinmann was one of four SMU track athletes joined by Ashley Luehmann (Lewiston, Minn.), Autumn Valk (Appleton, Wis.) and Emily Bartusek (Albert Lea, Minn.) to earn the USTFCCCA's all-academic honor. The Cardinal women were also one of 50 NCAA Division III schools to earn team academic honors, while the SMU men's team was one of 31 Division III schools on the all-academic list. To qualify for the USTFCCA All-Academic award, a team must carry a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher, while individuals must boast a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have posted an NCAA qualifying standard in their event. NCAA Division III outdoor national champion UW-Oshkosh was the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Women's Team of the Year, while UW-La Crosse had the most women earn all-academic honors with 10. Nebraska Wesleyan was the Men's Team of the Year, posting a Division III-best nine All-Academic honorees SMU's Weinmann, Luehmann, Valk and Bartusek were four of 15 women from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to be named USTFCCCA All-Academic, while the Cardinal women were joined by St. Benedict, Concordia, Gustavus and Macalester as team academic honorees. |
