WINONA, Minn. — Around the Saint Mary's University track and field circle, Beth Cleveland's performance at the UW-Superior Invitational didn't go unnoticed.

It didn't slip past the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference coaches either.

Cleveland, who broke the school's indoor weight throw record and earned a provisional qualifying spot for the upcoming NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships, was named MIAC Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Cleveland, a senior, uncorked a throw of 14.89 meters — shattering both the school and facility records — to lock up that provisional qualifying spot. It was the second time this season that Cleveland had broken the school's weight throw record.
