Cardinal teams earn post-season academic honors

WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's track and field teams picked up some post-season honors on Monday, as both teams were named to the All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The women's team carried a 3.492 cumulative grade-point-average, while the SMU men's team combined for a 3.2 cumulative GPA. In addition, five members of the SMU women's team — Emily Bartusek (Albert Lea, Minn.), Ashley Dingels (Gibbon, Minn.), Jenny Folgers (McHenry, Ill.), Ellen Koranda (Blue Earth, Minn.) and Autumn Valk (Appleton, Wis.) — earned individual All-Academic Team honors, awarded to those individuals who carried at least a 3.26 cumulative GPA and posted an NCAA qualifying standard.
