Cardinals' Folgers named Female Track Athlete of Week

WINONA, Minn. — Jenny Folgers (McHenry, Ill.) moved one step closer to a second straight NCAA Division III Outdoor National Track and Field Championships appearance last Wednesday, as the Saint Mary's University senior provisionally qualified in the 100 hurdles.

And Monday, she was honored for her efforts by being named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week.

Folgers, who has been nursing a bad hamstring for much of the indoor and outdoor seasons, appeared to be back to 100 percent last Wednesday at the UM-Duluth Invitational, as she blew away the rest of the field in the 100 hurdles, winning in 15.06.

Folgers wasn't as fast in her second 100 hurdles race of the week, but the Cardinals' senior still won the event at the Drake Alternative at Gustavus on Saturday, clocking a time of 15.53
