earns her MIAC's Track Athletic of the Week honors
WINONA, Minn. — Ellen Koranda (Blue Earth, Minn.) turned a few heads at the University of South Florida Invitational last Saturday — and it had nothing to do with the fact that the Saint Mary's University sophomore was the only non-Division I competitor in the event.

The fact that Koranda posted a school-record time of 4:43.55 — and earned a seventh-place finish in the 13-runner field — is what raised eyebrows and turned heads.
And it was that performance that earned Koranda Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors, it was announced Wednesday.
It was the second straight meet that Koranda has shattered the school record in the 1,500, and was just a second off the NCAA Division III qualifying standard.
