MIAC athlete of week honors
WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary's University sophomore Ashley Dingels (Gibbon, Minn.) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Track and Field Athletic of the Week, it was announced Wednesday.
Dingels — an NCAA Division III national qualifier in the pentathlon a year ago — posted a national championship provisional score of 4,347 in the pentathlon at the Kansas Relays last weekend to earn the conference's weekly honor.
Dingels' 4,347 points, a school record by nearly 100 points, is also the fifth-best performance in the nation this season.
