WINONA, Minn. — It was a fitting ending to a stellar career for one Saint Mary's University tennis player, and a fitting start for another.

Tyler Stevenson (Neenah, Wis.) closed out a storied SMU career with his third straight All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection at No. 1 singles, while Walter Mannino (Chicago, Ill.) made the most of his first season as a Cardinal, joining Stevenson on the MIAC's all-conference podium at No. 2 singles.

And those were just two of three Cardinals to earn All-MIAC honors, as Adam Solseth (Shakopee, Minn.) collected his first-ever all-conference honor, teaming up with Stevenson at No. 1 doubles.

Stevenson — an All-MIAC performer at No. 1 singles in each of the last three years, while also earning all-conference honors at No. 1 doubles a year ago — posted a 7-1 record in eight conference matches this season. Stevenson's lone loss was a three-set, 5-7, 7-5, 10-7 setback to Jordy Kamerling of Concordia.

Mannino's inaugural conference season was just as impressive, as the junior transfer went 5-3, with two of his three losses coming at No. 1 singles — 6-3, 6-2 to Carleton's William Homes and 7-6, 6-0 to Gustavus' John Kaus.

The team of Stevenson-Solseth was a perfect 4-0 at No. 1 doubles, as the duo was put together midway through the season and rolled to wins over Saint John's, St. Thomas, St. Olaf and Macalester during the regular season, then won their only two matches at the season-ending MIAC Tournament.
