WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been presented the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-American Academic award for the fall 2003 semester.

To earn this award, the entire team must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.80 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Three ratings are then awarded: Commendable (2.80-2.99), Excellent (3.00-3.24) and Superior (3.25 and above).

Both the SMU mens and women's teams received Excellent ratings. The Cardinal women boasted a cumulative GPA of 3.150, while the SMU men were at 3.01. Sixty-three women's teams and 33 men's teams from NCAA Division III were recognized by the CSCAA.
