Cardinal men close out regular-season with a bang with win over River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Wis. — Eric Lindquist was hoping his Saint Mary's University swimming and diving teams could close out their regular season with a pair of strong showings over the weekend.

He got just that — and then some.

Not only did the Cardinals turn in back-to-back solid performances — first on Friday against Luther, and then Saturday against UW-River Falls — but Lindquist also got to witness his SMU men's team post its second dual-meet win of the season.

Led by freshman Steve Sadorf (Chicago, Ill.), the Cardinals rolled to a 123-105 win over UW-River Falls Saturday. Sadorf won the 100 breaststroke (1:06.93) and the 200 breaststroke (2:28.04). He was also a member of the first-place 200 medley relay team, and finsihed second in the 200 IM.

Logan Twedt
(Hastings, Minn.) chipped in a first in the 1,650 freestyle (18:57.37), while Scott Schultz (Cary, Ill.) touched the wall first in the 200 backstroke (2:08.92.

The women weren't quite as fortunate, losing to the Falcons 160-66. Jennifer Moore (Richfield, Minn.) pickedup the Cardinals' lone win, , totaling 244.60 points in winning the one-meter diving competition.
