The 2000 season will be the 10th for Coach John Skemp as the Saint Mary's men's and women's cross country running and skiing coach.

As a runner, Skemp was a member of the La Crosse Aquinas state championship cross country team in 1979. He has also coached the Aquinas girls cross country team to back-to-back state titles in 1986 and 1987.

Skemp is also distance coach for the men's and women's track and field teams.
