Year-by-Year Career Highlights: Kirk Nauman begins his fourth season as the Saint Mary's University head men's and women's track & field coach in 2006-2007. During the past three years, Nauman's teams have had tremendous growth which has translated into success on the track. Saint Mary's has been represented at the NCAA National Championships every year since Nauman's arrival. In just three seasons, the track and field program at the national level has produced three All-Americans, 14 NCAA championships participants, two NCAA automatic qualifiers, 30 provisional qualifiers and 18 honorees on the USTFCCCA All Academic Team. In conference competition, the men's and women' track and field teams have produced nine MIAC champions, three MIAC record holders 50 all conference selections and two field athletes of the meet. In 2005, Nauman was named MIAC Women's Indoor Coach of the Year. At the Saint Mary's University level, school records have been broken in 60 events and both the men's and women's teams have been recognized nationally by the USTFCCCA for annually having a high ranking team g.p.a for the past 3 years. Over the first seven years of his coaching career, Nauman has had the opportunity to be involved in the coaching of 14 All-Americans, 37 NCAA Championship participants, six NCAA automatic qualifiers, 72 NCAA provisional qualifiers, 34 conference champions, 133 all-conference selections, eight conference records and 86 school records. As an athlete, the Green Bay, Wisconsin native competed at the University of Wisconsin ˆ Superior where served as team captain. Nauman is a 1999 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He is currently completing thesis work towards his master's degree in sports administration at Minnesota State University. Nauman is a USA Track & Field certified coach , a member of the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association and a former member of the NCAA Championships Committee. |
