WAVERLY, Iowa — Wartburg scored a pair of runs in the first inning and added solo runs in the third and fifth innings as the top-seeded Knights knocked off Marian 4-0 at the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament Friday afternoon.

Wartburg (35-7-1) will face defending national champion Saint Mary's (32-6) in Saturday's winner's bracket game, while Marian will face the winner of Friday's St. Thomas-UW-Stevens Point game.

Alisa Steffen led off the first inning wih a triple and scored on Julie Medhus' RBI double. Medhus then scored on the Knights' third hit of the inning, and RBI single by pinch-hitter Allison Kuball.

Wartburg padded its lead to 3-0 on an RBI single by Amy Kueker, then closed out the scoring on Aimee Havel's RBI single to right in the fifth.

Steffen and Medhus each picked up two hits and scored two runs, while pitcher Stephanie Rasmussen picked up the pitching win, tossing a complete--game five-hitter, allowing five hits,while striking out seven and not walking a batter.
