Ithaca opened Northeast Regional play with a 5-2 triumph over Rochester Institute of Technology, then faced Onenonta three straight times, winning 9-4, losing 3-2, then clinching the regional crown the Bombers' third straight regional championship with a 5-0 win.

Ithaca is making its sixth appearance in the national finals and brings a 31-13 overall record into tournament play.
The Bombers are the only team to have reached the finals in each of the last three years, having hosted and won the Northeast Regional each time.
The Bombers played one other regional champion this spring, losing to William Paterson, 5-1.
Ithaca's all-time series records against the rest of the field are 0-1 vs. North Central, 1-1 vs. Saint Mary's, 2-2 vs. Wheaton and 5-6 vs. William Paterson. Ithaca has never played Central, Muskingum or Roanoke.
Senior first baseman Laura Remia is featured in this week's edition of Sports Illustrated (dated May 21) in the "Faces In The Crowd" section.
Remia, a second-team All-American the past two years, is batting .507 with 13 home runs and 61 RBI's. She is the NCAA Division III career leader in home runs (48) and ranks fifth with 185 RBI's. She also leads the team in runs (52), hits (69), doubles (17), triples (6) and slugging percentage (.993). Sophomore designated hitter Liz Yentema is batting .394 with 32 RBI's.
Junior catcher Kristin Furdon, a first-team All-American last spring, is batting .323 with four home runs and 39 RBI's. Sophomore Abby Hanrahan is 24-7 with a 1.02 ERA. Her 24 wins rank second on Ithaca's single-season list and she has struck out a school-record 200 batters.
Hanrahan carried a perfect game into the seventh inning of the regional championship, before settling for a complete-game one-hitter.
Earlier this season, Rachel Meth Ithaca's No. 2 pitcher tossed the program's first-ever perfect game.
The Bombers are 2-7 against regional qualifiers (splitting with RIT and St. John Fisher, and losing to Bridgewater State, Cabrini, Pacific Lutheran, Muhlenberg and William Paterson.
Ithaca has not lost more than two games in a row all season, and has had winning streaks of six, five, four (three times) and three.
As a team, the Bombers are hitting .320, while opponents are batting .210 against Ithaca pitchers.
Ithaca has stolen 52 bases, while opponents have managed just 18 steals in 31 attempts.
