Today's DH is the final regular-season games for the Falcons, who open WIAC Tournament play on Friday, taking on UW-Superior at 11 a.m. The double elimination tourney will be played at Gelein Field in Eau Claire and is hosted by UW-Eau Claire. … UWRF finished third in the final WIAC standings after being picked for a seventh-place finish in the sports information director’s pre-season poll. … UWRF can break the school record for wins in a season with a victory against the Cardinals. The 1993 Falcons won 28 games and finished the year 28-16. … Falcon pitcher Ashley Bertrand (343) needs four strike outs to set a Falcon career strike out record. Amy Brooke (2000-03) has the record with 347. … Emily Howlett has hit a school-record 15 doubles this season, eclipsing Jenny Vick's record of 13 set in 1994.

The Cardinals closed out their MIAC season on a winning note, banging out 29 hits in sweeping St. Olaf 6-2 and 8-5 on Tuesday… UW-River Falls, meanwhile, erupted for 14 runs in beating UW-Whitewater 14-7 in Game 2 of their conference doubleheader on Sunday. The Warhawks handed UW-RF a 9-3 setback in the opener.

Last Meeting
A year ago, the Cardinals failed to win at least one game of a doubleheader for just the second time all season (the first coming against the nation's top-ranked team, St. Thomas, on April 8), as UW-River Falls escaped with a 3-1 Game 1 victory, and a 2-2 tie in Game 2 a game that was halted after five innings due to darkness.

The Cardinals' sweep of St. Olaf extended their winning streak vs. the Oles to 23 straight, dating back to a 3-1, Game 1 loss in 1996. … SMU has outscored the Oles 205-33 during their 21-game win streak. … The Cardinals' Game 2 win vs. Carleton last Saturday earned SMU a berth in the MIAC Tournament. The Cardinals enter this weekend's tournament as the No. 3 seed and will square off against Gustavus in a 3 p.m. opening-round game. The Gusties swept the teams' regular-season meetings this year, and beat the Cardinals twice in last year's MIAC Tournament. … The Cardinals have already locked up their 14th straight 20-win season. … Melissa Mondo (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) posted the Cardinals' fourth, four-hit game, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a 3-run double and a home run in Game 1 vs. St. Olaf. … Tara Close (North St. Paul, Minn.) was 3-for-4 vs. the Oles in Game 1, as she and Mondo accounted for seven of SMU's 12 Game 1 hits. … In Game 2, the Cardinals got two hits from six different players en route to their 17 total hits. … Cassie Otte (Randolph, Minn.) had a hit in both games vs. St. Olaf, extending her hitting streak to 12 straight one short of the team's season high. … Jenny Giannini (River Grove, Ill.) picked up her team-leading 10th double and was a perfect 3-for-3 in Game 1 vs. Carleton Saturday. SMU has now outscored their opponents 27-15 in the seventh. … SMU has not played an extra-inning game all season. … The Cardinals are now a perfect 11-0 when scoring in the first inning, and SMU picked up its first win when its opponent scores in the first (1-5) with their Game 2 win vs. St. Olaf.
