Annie Bids Farewell
I can’t believe senior day is already here. When I came to SMU, I thought I would be a player while writing this, it turns out that my role on the team was not on the field but instead I find myself sitting on a bucket every game. In being the manager of SMU fastpitch, I have found myself having many advantages and learning opportunities.

Coachie has taught me so much about the game and let me continue my presence amongst the team. When I told her my decision to not be on the team she asked if I wanted to still be a part of the team and I immediately said yes. But by no means did that make my decision not to play any easier; it was one of the hardest decisions I have had to face. It has been the amazing women on this team that have still allowed me to be an important part of this team’s chemistry.

Even though sometimes I get to do all the “fun” jobs like: back-rubs, foot massages, shin-guards, camera-duty, scorebook, food-runs, ice-runs, etc. (I am sure my list could go on and on), but the important part is that everyone knows that I am there for them when they need something. WIN! I am here to do whatever it takes to makes this team better.

To my past teammates, who showed me that it doesn’t matter if you play or not, it is your attitude once you have made a decision. They have taught me more than I ever thought possible on the softball field. Thanks to all those who taught me the game my first two years and to those who let me be of assistance to them my last two.

To everyone who has been in and out of this team, I want you to know you all had an influence on me in one way or another and I will always love and cherish the memories that we have made together.

To future SMU ladies, always keep the Bulldog attitude. It will get you out of any situation. And KA the rest of the season!
