SMU had dropped games to Simpson (6-5), Central (5-1) and Coe (1-0 in 8 innings) in its first three games of the tournament. … Hamline, meanwhile, opened its season with a 6-2 record during the Pipers’ spring trip to Fort Myers, Fla.
