WINONA, Minn. — On Tuesday, Saint Mary's University's Jenny Schipp (Oakdale, Minn.) was honored for her performance on the field, as the SMU senior was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Midwest Region Second Team.

On Thursday, Schipp was honored for her efforts on — and off the diamond — as the Cardinal pitcher was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V team.

Schipp closed out her record-setting collegiate career in style, finishing second to teammate Jenny Gutterman in batting average (.358), hits (44) and stolen bases (15), while also posting a pair of home runs, 25 RBIs and a .463 slugging percentage.

And on the mound, Schipp was equally impressive.

The senior righthander posted an 11-8 record and a 1.34 ERA, throwing a team-high 131.0 innings, allowing just 25 earned runs, while walking 33 and striking out 155 batters. Schipp's 155 strikeouts — which included seven games in which she struck out 10 or more batters — marked the third straight season she struck out 100 or more batters, and gave her a school-record 545 strikeouts in her career. Schipp is also the school's all-time leader in appearances (99), starts (78), complete games (52), shutouts (22) and innings pitched (516.2).

Schipp was one of seven Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players selected to the three Academic All-District V Teams. Two-time defending national champion St. Thomas had three first-team selections, while Gustavus had two second-team picks and Concordia had one.
