WINONA, Minn. — It's been a busy week for Jenni Gutterman (Shoreview, Minn.) and Saint Mary's University fastpitch softball teammates Jenny Schipp (North St. Paul, Minn.) and Amy Edge (Montfort, Wis.) — both on the field and off.

On the field, the trio helped lead the Cardinals to a third-place finish in the NCAA Division III Seed 1 Regional  — SMU's first NCAA post-season appearance since 2001.

Off the field, it's been one postseason award after another. On Monday, the three were named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team, while Gutterman was named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region Second Team, with Schipp and Edge earning third-team honors.

And, on Tuesday, it was more of the same as the three were selected to the NCAA Division III Seed 1 Regional All-Tournament team

Edge hit a team-best .563 in five tournament games, while also leading the team in hits (9), doubles (2), home runs (2), total bases (17), slugging percentage (1.063) and on-base percentage (.588). The senior catcher also picked off four runners and threw one runner out trying to steal.

Gutterman hit .368 with seven hits in 19 at-bats. The junior third baseman scored three runs, added a double and stole the team's lone base. Defensively, Gutterman was flawless, recording eight put outs and adding 13 assists without committing an error.

Schipp did double duty for the Cardinals, hitting .294 (5-for-17) with a team-leading six runs scored, while also going 3-2 with a 2.42 ERA in five pitching appearances. The junior right-hander started all five regional games, throwing 26 innings. She allowed nine earned runs, while walking seven and striking out 21.
